Role Summary 

The Finance Partner (FP) provides financial information, advice, analysis, forecasting and training in funds management to support country programme leadership in delivering effective financial plans and manage resources, ensuring better programme delivery and funds oversight to achieve best value for money.

Project Overview 

The Medair Global Support Office (GSO) Finance Department, is primarily focused on Medair financial and investment decisions, acts as a financial gatekeeper and strategic advisor in daily business operations and mid to long-term strategic decisions of Medair, with streamlined and optimised key processes, via leveraging a fit-for-purpose finance system and structure.

A Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland can apply for the role.

Responsibilities:    

Grants & fund management; Monitor and analyse budgets, update tools and ensure accurate reporting, support audits, communicate findings, manage risks and opportunities.

Provide technical advice to country programme senior management and Heads of Country Programme, develop and review financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.

Develop and respond to KPIs, innovate finance processes, and embed ERP system. Lead or participate in projects to enhance finance performance.  

Develop and maintain effective global finance relationships, lead corporate initiatives, anticipate and manage financial risks and provide financial management guidance.

Train and support country programme Finance Managers.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:  

University degree in business administration, accounting or equivalent relevant qualification  

Extensive experience in management accounting working in finance in an INGO and/or large complex organisation.

Professional Accounting qualification either ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.  

Professional level of English, French strongly desirable. 

Proven skills in data analytics, financial reporting, presentations, problem solving, detailed administration with a high computer literacy, Microsoft Office (Excel), accounting software/ERP
