Role Summary

The Project Support Manager ensures the efficient running of the country programme, managing assigned support functions (administration, finance, HR, logistics, legal). They oversee support staff and represent Medair in meetings with contractors, authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Project Overview

The purpose of Medair’s multi-sector relief programme in Ukraine is to save lives and alleviate human suffering by working in emergency response locations, with vulnerable populations and providing essential life-saving Health, WASH, Shelter/Infrastructure, NFI/CVA, Protection and Mental Health and Psychosocial Services.

Workplace & Conditions

Based in Kyiv with frequent travels across all Medair bases in Ukraine.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee assigned support departments, including staff supervision, security, maintenance, and liaising with landlords, contractors, and suppliers.

• Provide logistical support, managing the supply chain, vehicles, IT, and communication equipment, and ensuring efficient procurement, storage, and transportation.

• Manages the digital and paper archiving of all sensitive data in the country programme

• Supervise financial activities, ensuring cash management needs, reporting deadlines, and internal and external audit requirements are met.

• Manage HR activities, supporting line managers in recruitment, training, appraisals, disciplinary actions, and ensuring legal compliance.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:

• University degree in relevant subject or equivalent professional / technical qualification.

• Excellent working knowledge of the English language (speaking and writing).

• Experience working in a cross-cultural setting, preferably in a support role.

• Post-qualification management experience in a relevant profession.

Behavioural Skills:

• Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner with coaching and training skills.

• Good understanding of cross-cultural issues while being diplomatic.

• Able to cope with basic living conditions during project site visits.

• Able to oversee multiple tasks while prioritising, delegating with problem solving skills.

• Strong leadership with consultative management style and accountable decision-making skills.
