Programme Funding Manager

ROC Required
The Programme Funding Manager (PFM) has delegated responsibility for researching new funding sources, preparing specific bids, proposals and reports for submission to institutional donors as well as donor relationship management and maintenance of appropriate information systems. Providing strategic support, monitoring, review and evaluation of all aspects of Medair programmes, the Programme Funding Manager plays a key role in grant coordination.

Programme Funding Manager

The Programme Funding Manager (PFM) is responsible for the development of project proposals and report writing, supporting the Country Director with donor relationship management, and researching new funding opportunities. The PFM is a member of the senior management team, manages grant information using Medair systems, and participates in the spiritual life of the team.

Philanthropy Advisor

ROC Required
Responsible for fundraising with Major Donors in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. In collaboration with the rest of Engagement team, support Medair’s mission by consolidating and cultivating current portfolio of Major Donors and acquiring new ones, upgrading of key middle donors, developing an extensive network, creating and leveraging partnerships and increasing visibility.

Marketing Assistant

ROC Required
The Marketing Assistant will help execute strategies and key initiatives to drive Donor Retention & Acquisition effectiveness and success. This role will partner with Mass and Middle relationship advisor to roll out campaigns that nurture or attract (new) donors. The person will be involved in the engagement team and will contribute to achieve overall Engagement objectives of raising funds.

Deputy Financial Controller

ROC Required
The Deputy Financial Controller role is part of the Global Support Office (GSO) finance leadership team. The role is responsible for Medair financial reporting to management, and coordinates Medair global financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting. The Deputy financial controller contributes to developing and embedding fit for purpose internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and regulatory compliance, and to improve operational efficiency by ensuring that budgets are adhered to, policies are followed, capital shortages are identified, and accurate reports are generated for Medair leadership in a timely manner.

Deputy Country Director

ROC Required
The Deputy Country Director manages the development and oversees the implementation and development of the programme and support functions to facilitate the implementation of the country strategy. Providing leadership, strategic direction, management and evaluation of all aspects of the programme, the Deputy Country Director also plays a key role in external representation, legal compliance, grant management, programme coordination and team leadership.

Nutrition Project Manager

ROC Required
The Nutrition Project Manager develops, leads, monitors and evaluates the assigned nutrition project(s). This involves effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, time frame and budget with a focus on nutrition system strengthening, training and coordination. Providing technical support, leadership and strategic direction, other important aspects of the role include managing and training nutrition staff to meet quality standards in nutrition delivery, encouraging beneficiary participation, liaising with other stakeholders and managing and training nutrition staff, and, planning, and contributing to the development of new nutrition project proposals and reports.

Health and Nutrition Advisor

ROC Required
Provide technical advice and support to the field management and the health and nutrition staff. Responsible to develop, lead, monitor and evaluate the health and nutrition aspects of the country programme including coordination at a senior level, with national and regional health authorities as well as other NGOs. The Shelter & Infrastructure Project Manager plans, develops, monitors and evaluates assigned shelter and infrastructure projects, assessing needs, designing projects, writing proposals, initiating and effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget. Provide technical support, leadership and strategic direction; meet quality standards in delivery, encourage beneficiary participation, liaise with other stakeholders, manage and train shelter and infrastructure staff.

Apply to our Relief & Recovery Orientation Course

Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.

How do I apply for a job?

If there is a current job listing that interests you and you meet its qualifications, you can apply directly through our online portal. If you wish to work in one of our country programmes, but do not see an open position that fits your qualifications at this time, you can also apply directly to our Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) for consideration for future in-country positions.

Can I intern or volunteer with Medair?

We require those who work in our country programmes to have previous professional experience and be able to make a one-year commitment to the role assigned. Therefore, we do not offer internships in our country programmes, but would welcome you to apply upon completing your studies and gaining some further professional experience.

Can I apply if I don’t have previous humanitarian sector experience?

Given the challenging contexts we work in, it is important that our staff be familiar and comfortable in their jobs before joining one of our country programmes. Therefore, we require our country programmes staff to have a minimum of one year’s work experience specific to their profession and/or studies.

In the case of someone who has just completed their studies, but has extensive previous experience through internships, we may make an exception on a case-by-case basis. You can learn more here about the essential criteria we look for in order to work in our country programmes.

Are there specific language requirements for working with Medair?

While our staff worldwide speak a multitude of languages, English is our unifying language within which we work together as a whole. Therefore, Medair requires that international staff who do not speak English as their first language possess 1st certificate-level English proficiency to work in our country programmes.
