Actively participate to develop, support, monitor and evaluate the country emergency nutrition project(s), support the heath project managers in managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget with a focus on response to new crises requiring assessments and short-term interventions. Provide technical support, leadership and strategic direction, other important aspects of the role include managing and training nutrition staff to meet international quality standards, strength the nutrition sector in the existing program and work towards standardising nutrition programming in all Medair bases. Encourage beneficiary participation, liaise with other stakeholders, and anticipate, plan, and contribute to the development of new nutrition project proposals and reports.

Project Support Manager (Roving)

The Roving Project Support Manager is key to the efficient and effective running of operations in the area to which they are assigned. This varied and challenging role involves covering for the support functions including the Project Support Manager, Human Resources Manager, Logistics Manager and Finance Manager. More specifically, this will involve coordinating and managing the main support functions including general administration, base management, finance, human resources, logistics and security. With line management responsibility for staff involved in support roles. Senior Global Emergency Response Team Officer

The Senior Global Emergency Response Team (G-ERT) Officer is available for immediate deployment for emergency response operations to provide team leadership and in-county coordination, linking with donors and partner organisations, designing of strategy, and ensuring overall quality and execution of response in immediate phases. The Unit 4 Finance Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the Unit 4 ERPX software. Climate & DRM-DRR Technical Advisor
ROC Required
Experienced in donor relationships, the Country Technical Advisor provides strategic orientation, support, monitoring, review and evaluation of some aspects of the MDG programme, in one or more sectors such as Climate, DRM-DRR (Disaster Risk Management – Disaster Risk Reduction), WASH, Shelter-Infrastructure and CASH assistance. He/ she plays a key role in strategic thinking and programme implementation, helping the Sr management in securing funding and enhancing its stability (target: $500k-$1m per year), which includes advice to the PFM on potential donors and partnerships, and technical support to proposal writing, project implementation and reporting, also improving its quality. The Country Technical Advisor brings a solid contribution for better impact for beneficiaries through improved quality and exit strategies – more sustainable and in partnership with private actors – analyses of medium and long-term sustainability of Medair realisations of the last 3 years and make suggestions on how to restore/ revalorise failures could be envisaged.

Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager oversees the provision of the logistical support for the programme. The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring an effective supply chain is in place at all times, and that standard logistics and related administrative systems are established and implemented within Medair country programmes. The role provides strategic direction, management and evaluation of all aspects of logistics, ensuring relevant information, reporting and accountability requirements are met. The Logistics Manager also plays an important role in external representation, legal compliance, team leadership and capacity building of logistics staff.

Apply to our Relief & Recovery Orientation Course
Medair’s Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) is a one-week simulation course that will help determine if a humanitarian career with Medair is the right fit for you, and if you are a strong fit for Medair. After participating in the course, you will enter a “pool” of qualified candidates that are ready to be called upon to respond to humanitarian crises. When needs arise in our country programmes, we will offer you a position in line with your competencies and our needs. If you apply for an international position, the ROC will be mandatory for you to work in our country programmes.

How do I apply for a job?
If there is a current job listing that interests you and you meet its qualifications, you can apply directly through our online portal. Can I intern or volunteer with Medair?
We require those who work in our country programmes to have previous professional experience and be able to make a one-year commitment to the role assigned. Therefore, we do not offer internships in our country programmes, but would welcome you to apply upon completing your studies and gaining some further professional experience.
We do, however, sometimes offer internships at our International Headquarters in Switzerland, which you can learn more about here as well as welcome volunteers to support our various teams. Click here to learn more about volunteering with us.
Can I apply if I don’t have previous humanitarian sector experience?
Given the challenging contexts we work in, it is important that our staff be familiar and comfortable in their jobs before joining one of our country programmes. Therefore, we require our country programmes staff to have a minimum of one year’s work experience specific to their profession and/or studies.
In the case of someone who has just completed their studies, but has extensive previous experience through internships, we may make an exception on a case-by-case basis. You can learn more here about the essential criteria we look for in order to work in our country programmes.
Are there specific language requirements for working with Medair?
While our staff worldwide speak a multitude of languages, English is our unifying language within which we work together as a whole. Therefore, Medair requires that international staff who do not speak English as their first language possess 1st certificate-level English proficiency to work in our country programmes.
